Dear family,
I feel like often on my mission I have been able to see how God has made up for my weaknesses, an things just fall into my lap, but this week with sister Holmes, I got to see how hard work and a lot of prayers can pay off. We started off this week with two not progressing investigators, and that's it. So Tuesday we decided we were going to set a goal to get 5 other lessons, or in other words we were going to get 5 people to give us their number, so we could bug them all week to come to church. That might not sound like a lot, but it is. So we prayed, we had faith, and worked our butts off. And it worked! hehehe goals completed are a wonderful thing. And the week only got better. There were small miracles that happened, people are being prepared, and this week we had 5 investigators at church! compared to the 1 we had last week, it was a good week, and we actually had 6, but we gave him to the elders, because they only had 1 investigator at church, and we wanted to help them out number wise. Now lets put that much work into each week, and this is going to be the best most tiring transfer ever, and I think I'll love it so much!
Now a few random things that happened: a preacher guy that the sisters had met with before, that really likes "mormons" for some reason met us in the mall and took us out for some really expensive hot pot, I stood on one of those "exercise" things that you're just suppose to stand on and it jiggles back and forth and some how you are suppose to loose weight, I ate durian. Durian is just as weird as people make it out to be. We ate it when it was supper ripe too. >.< not my favorite thing in the world. Our recent convert called us on Sunday morning and asked if she didn't shower before going to church, if she would be clean enough to receive the holy ghost, a member went off on how the branch President is terrible and the branch has so many problems, when we were trying to sneakily teach her friend, and completely burned that opportunity. That one was way annoying. there's a large schism between the older members of the ward. "They think they are wise, and harken not unto the councils of God, for they set it aside, believing they know of them selves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness, and it profiteth them not." dang it's like the prophets had to deal with this very thing. But besides that, this branch rocks. I am really enjoying it.
And my companion's a boss.
Love you all!

cultural moment: seeing 3 people on one motorcycle is totally normal here. and the age you are able to drive is 12 i think. so you'll see like 3 twelve year old boys on a motorcycle. I've also see people breast feeding on a motorcycle, thank goodness she wasn't driving.
Spiritual moment: "God didn't ask us to endure comfort, but to endure hardships" As stated by one of the members yesterday. So, remember, Hardships, and trials don't mean you did something wrong, or that God's not there. It means you're alive.
Love you alllllllllll >.< so much love for the family!
