It's easy to forget that the only reason I am able to formulate sentences in Thai or understand Thai is because the Lord is helping me; and it's easy not to recognize the progress I have made spiritually.
It feels like there are small miracles every time we teach, because there are. Yesterday we were teach Phii Chang (one of our investigators, who is actually our teacher) and he asked a question, and I understood and could answer him, not just in broken Thai, but with surety that what I was saying was correct. That's almost an everyday occurrence now. Sister Ellis and I were talking with an elder leaving for Mexico this week, he said off-handedly that he hoped the gift of tongues was real and sister Ellis and I replied almost in tandem, "I KNOW the gift of tongues exists."
There were no big events this week, well, that's not entirely true. Last week we found out we will (my companions and I) be in the choir that is singing for the general Relief Society conference! I won't spoil the songs we are singing, but one is a medley written by Sally Deford especially for us. I repent of ever saying her music all sounds similar. It is a thing of beauty.
There was also quite a bit of fuss about what we had to wear. We are having to wear a jewel tone collared button-up shirt with 3/4 sleeves. ไม มี! Why would I have brought that? I'm going to Thailand. But it turns out all the sisters basically were having the same problem, so the bookstore here bought a ton of shirts that met the criteria. At first I was just going to borrow a shirt from a senior sister that was an xl, but I decided to just buck up and buy one, and luckily they got cute ones made of lighter materials, so I can use it in Thailand.... in winter.... And I'll be there for two winters so I justified it.
Well, that's about all I got. Thanks for the package, and Dear Elders! Here are your scriptures for this week! Jacob 5: 41, I looove this. Jacob 5:70 That's me! I am one of the workers brought in for the last time! Keep safe - y'all are always in my prayers!
(sorry no pics this week, I left my camera in my room)
