Give me a minute to brag about our mission, and how God is working in Thailand.
Thailand. It the fastest growing mission in ALL of Asia. in 6 months we will hopefully have baptized over 1000 people. We had a new stake created in Thailand, and a new district. It's so exciting! And it has so little to do with us! Really all we do is go out with faith, and ask everyone we see to be baptized, come to church, or learn about Christ. It is so faith building!!!!!
In other news, this week we got some solid new investigators. And (believe it or not) two of them were member referrals! One of them is from Iran, he is so very prepared, and always asks the best questions. Some times he misunderstands, then asks us about it, then we clear it up, and he totally understands and agrees. Like we explained that after we are baptized, we can be clean, and renew our covenant through the sacrament. He was like "I don't think it works like that, I could do anything during the week, and because I take the bread and water I'm forgiven? That doesn't make sense." Nope, no it doesn't, and it lead right into how we must want to change to repent. So cool. And he really wants to be baptized, I'm not sure if there's anything special we need to do though, because he is right now Muslim, and if he changes religion, and ever goes back to Iran, he will get killed. But he's determined to do it.
Also we have a bit of an issue with an RC (recent convert) who is in love with one of my companions.... Yep. But it's okay!
We are teaching this less active fellow, from England. He's... actually quite impossible to describe, but I'll try. He is SUPER well educated, says what ever is on his mind, really genuine, and not the best listener. He had a point in his life, when he just stopped believing the church was true, so he stopped doing everything, he's dis-fellowshiped. But then he started feeling like he needed church, so we invited him to FHE with one of the senior couples, and it was a powerful lesson. Afterward, he stayed and got a blessing from Elder Moliff, and since then he said he's had the Holy Ghost with him, and he knows it's all true. Isn't that so wonderful and amazing, how God can just change us all in one day. He's now meeting with the bishop to get re-fellowshiped.
Hmmm what else is on my mind... transfers is coming up. I think I'll be moving. I got to see sister Somboonit (my trainer). I met a really nice Jehova's witness, and we had a really good chat. Although he admittedly was trying to help us find truth. We missed Elder Gwang (is that his name?) speaking because sister du Plessis was really sick. I don't understand Thai any more (that's not fully true) The church is true, and we do have apostles and prophets.
Culture: All hotels, and apartments in Thailand that I have ever been too the 13th floor is never written 13, because they're super superstitious, and no one would want to live on the 13th floor because it's unlucky. so it's usually like 12A or P or something not 13.
Spiritual: We believe in the same organization that existed in the primitive church, namely apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. We literally have the same organization Jesus Christ set up, not to mention the power and authority to act in his name. This week as we taught I asked one of our investigators if she ever wondered if there was a prophet on Earth, and she said "I know there is." It really just makes sense. And not just a prophet, apostles! In Jesus Christ's Church, everyone is taken care of, no matter how far away from Salt lake city they live.
I love you all!
