We just changed back to 6 week transfers. I've never had one. They are absurdly fast. I feel like I blinked, and it's over. I shall from now on call them "Weeping angel transfers." We don't yet know who will stay and go, and we really have no idea. Sister Downs thinks she'll be moving, and there's also the possibility they'll close the sister area, because we're going down on the number of sisters in our mission. There's like 14 dying, and 8 coming in >.<
Also there is a tiny, microscopic chance I might maybe be training. And that's terrifying. I think I would have been a better trainer when I was younger in the mission, because I don't remember what being a greeny is like! Just that it's hard. But of course there are many older sisters than me, so it's not that likely.
This week was pretty much a carbon copy of last week, minus the baptism, and plus a confirmation. We invited a ton, saw little success, and ate a lot of snacks from 7/11. Yup, a pretty normal week. That's all I got. Loves.
Cultural fact: Thai people are very, very, very, very superstitious. Not the members so much, but they believe very strongly in ghosts. One of the recent converts in this ward swears he sees ghosts every day, sometimes in the church, and once he said it entered him. Also there's this Lockness monster-like thing called the Pie-nog. Actually, I think it's a water dragon, but whatever. This convert also said he saw that. But then a lot of members kinda believe in that. There's just a lot of superstition. I'm surprised I've only met one possessed person... actually I've probably met more than that.
Spiritual thought: Sin is terrible. Before my mission I thought, yes, sin is bad, but I now realize it is life-ruining. An example: drinking alcohol. Most people just think it's fun, whatever, but a couple weeks ago there was a couple parked outside the church, both drunk, and their 2-ish year old child was playing next to the highway. It was so sad. They could not help their son and didn't even notice the danger he was in. Smoking kills, lying destroys trust and relationships, etc. etc. God has told us to avoid all these things not because he wants to exert power over us, but help us avoid so much heartache. One of the speakers in the MTC said this, and I've remembered it since: "We do not obey God because we are blind, we follow because we can see, and know that God knows best."
I love you all!
