...and I still don't know if I'm moving or not, but probably I will.
It's funny, because I kind of wanted to transfer last transfer, but I've come to love these people so much. I've met a woman that comes every week without fail, even though she has little or no support from her family. I've met an old woman that didn't let the fact she was old stop her from changing. I've met teenagers, that their while family is super Buddhist, but they don't care, they really fear only God. And many more amazing people. I'm sure there are more amazing people out there, but I will miss them. Bang Khea will always hold a special place in my heart.
In other news, we had an *awesome* Valentines party in our ward. Sister Stack and I made sugar cookies for it because the ward asked us to, but it was so funny.
They asked us to make cookies, and then all of a sudden everyone was like, "You're making chocolate? Be sure to make lots!" Wait.... what? We did NOT have the time to make both so we just made sugar cookies, and they got over it. The cookies were supper yummy too, if I may say so myself. And we had three investigators come too, and people were talking with them. It was great.
For one game we played, everyone was in a circle, and we had about three balloons, and if someone got the balloon, they had to run and give it to someone else. If you had the balloon when the whistle blew... we didn't know what would happen. So everyone was trying not to have the balloon, and then more people started getting up, and then people were running with random objects; a soccer ball, a water cooler, boxing gloves. I ended up with a mortar and pestle... It was hilarious. Then the people that had things at the end had to sit in the middle and play this rhyming game thing. Honestly I didn't know what we were supposed to do, but the other people helped me through it. So fun!
On Sunday we had four investigators at church (and great was the rejoicing thereof) and we had some really good lessons with them afterwards.
One of our lessons has been deemed the creepiest lesson in mine or Sister Stack's whole mission. I'll give you the short version: we were teaching a man and his wife, and either she is schizophrenic, or possessed... either way, it was creepy. But the husband was solid. They are already Christian, so we taught the restoration, and when we told him that Joseph Smith prayed to know which church was true, he was like " Yeah, I have the same question." Yeeeeehaaa! We'll see what happens with them.
Oh and Elder Gilley is finishing his mission this transfer, so he gave his testimony. It was powerful. I can't even imagine finishing my mission. What would that be like?
Culture time! There are three fruits that I have been told never go out of season here: bananas, pineapple, and (are you ready for it), MANGOS! Although they never go out of season, there is a season where they are most abundant, and the month for mangos is March! There will be a ton of mango sticky rice for cheap. Mmmmmm yummy.
Also here are some pictures: - this dog chills at one of the bus stops we frequent and I guess he has someone who loves him. - those are our sugar cookies. Impressive, right?
I Love you all! Love,
Sister Kenny
