Dear Fam,
This week went by fast. It's funny because the first day here some one told me at the MTC the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days and I was like. "that is the stupidest thing I have heard in my life I think you mean the weeks feel like months." I have since repented of that sentiment. I am actually loving being in a trio. it helps that they are both awesome sisters (in spite of any resting face issues we may have), and it's also nice when we are teaching our "investigators". I'll be sitting there thinking "what did this dear brother just say because I really have no idea." and then one of my companions will be like "he doesn't know what baptism is." or vice versa. I think I failed to mention, but sister Ellis is 24. She has an incredible story. at 21 she got the answer not to go on her mission, and then this year she felt she should go, but didn't want to, she was reading in Alma and was like "no mission scriptures, and closed the scriptures and opened in D+C to where the first missionaries were called, and she was like FINE I'll go." Also I saw Claire! er.. sister Hardest I was supper excited.
Oh now about the title of this E-mail. this Tuesday (yesterday) Neal A Andersen spoke to us. It was an awesome talk about sacrifice. He told us "you sacrifice for the things you love, and you love the things you sacrifice for." He talked about how the mission would be hard, but that it would be worth it, he also talked about how some times you never see the fruit of your labor. After the talk we were all getting ready to leave when the MTC president got up and told us that there was too much lightning out side and that we were going to sing hymns till it abated. I was like what? I had had to come early because we are in choir, and there had been no hint of rain. apparently no one had known it was going to rain. any way we sang hymns and Brother Andersen shook hands, but he didn't quite make it to our row. darn. oh well. gospel's still true. then we had to run home in the rain. from the Marriott center to the MTC. it was funny. A perfect way to end a talk about sacrifice. We were suppose to have a meeting afterward to talk about what we learned, but thankfully president Jackson let us go home early and get out of our wet cloths. not every one was so fortunate though. I think a lot of the Tagalog sisters are sick from it ( most of the sisters on our floor are learning Tagalog and Korean.)
Last week we invited our investigator Phii Txg to get Baptised and he accepted! then we learned we would no longer be teaching him because he was in fact our second Thai teacher..... not going to lie that first time he taught us was a little bit awkward. any way his name is Brother Thrapp (in Thai we pronounce it trap) and he is one of the most spiritual people in the world. may it's because he's only been home for 11 months, but his lessons are powerful. any way we have two new investigators, Phii nun and phii chang. phii chang is a tough cookie. he's just meeting with us to make is wife happy. grr. but phii nun is genuinely interested.
